  • Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, was a musical created in the 1960s with lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, and music by Galt MacDermot. It took place in New York City. Some of its popular rock and roll songs became anthems for the anti-Vietnam War movement. The musical itself contained drugs, nudity, and anti-war sentiments relating to the hippie counter-culture, which stirred controversy. It was the very first rock musical.
