Bernard Villemot created this poster to promote the TGV line (Train à Grande Vitesse, high-speed train) of the SCNF, which is the National French Railway. The TGV line opened in 1981 when this poster was created. Villemot uses flat expanses of color to represent the fields of grapes of the Burgundy region (Bourgogne in French) which is known for producing wine and the famous dishes, Beef Bourgogne and Coq au Vin.
