The historic architecture of Boston is on display in this poster for American Airlines. The clean lines and simple layout were a shift in advertising design away from the illustrative posters of the 1960s.
Boston's Park Street Church is pictured in this poster. The church is famous not for its Revolutionary War past, like many churches in town, but for its tall steeple. Built in 1804, Park Street Church is located centrally in Boston on the corners of Park Street and Tremont Street. It was the tallest building in the United States from 1810 - 1828 and until the 20th Century it was the first building most visitors saw when entering town.
