Safety is key when transporting man's best friend via bicycle! This charming 1920s poster was created by noted artist, Mich for the Hutchinson brand of bicycle tires. We see a man gingerly escorting his puppy dog below a slogan that reads, "safer than steel". It is a sweet image for a historic brand.

Hutchinson Tires is one of the leading brands in bicycle tires to this day. The company was founded in 1890 by Hiram Hutchinson, an American living in Chalette -sur-Loing, France. The brand quickly became known for its wins in cycling races, which were very popular at the turn-of-the-century in France. Hutchinson is the only bicycle tire company still manufacturing its products in France.

Michel Liebeaux (1881-1923), better known as Mich, was a poster artist who was active in the early twentieth century. Although his career was short, he produced a number of well-known French posters in the area of bicycles and automobiles. He was also an illustrator for the premier French auto-racing paper, L'Auto.
