Rugby Board Game is a vintage c.1925 English game that uses the imagery of the sport. The board game was most likely played with dice to determine movement around the game, relying mainly on luck rather than skill. The artwork includes six vignettes of the opposing teams in the process of scoring. The board emphasizes several numbers on it with red outlines. These most likely referred to penalties or advances in the game.

While the innovation of board games date to the 1500's, the prevalence of game playing saw a boom in mid-19th century as the middle class came into prominence. Although earlier board games sought to reinforce moral lessons, later games centered on popular culture and interests of the time.
