Gaston Noury created this vintage poster in the 1890s. He had an artistic upbringing as his grandfather was the founder and director of the local museum in Elbeuf, France where the artist was born. He considered himself a painter of nature subjects; however, he created several posters of the Belle Époque era that earned him commercial attention. Salon des Cent was a commercial art exhibition space located on rue Bonaparte in Paris. Many other well-known poster artists were commissioned to create posters for the Salon, including Alphonse Mucha.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
