What factors determine the price of a poster?
- Rarity - how hard is it to find in today’s market?
- Condition – the better the condition of a poster, the higher its value. We want our posters to have strong colors and no visible damages, especially when that piece will be hanging in our home or office.
- The Artist and their Collectibility – many poster artists’ works are highly sought after, such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Jules Cheret, and Leonetto Cappiello. People seek out the works created by these artists and pay a premium for their work.
- The Appeal of the Image - This is the single most important factor in determining price. We can have a rare poster in top condition by a collectible artist, but if the image is not aesthetically pleasing, its value will not be high.
