Air India's mascot, Maharajah AKA "The Rogue" is one of the most beloved corporate personalities. Developed in 1946 by Bobby Kooka, Maharajah is known for his padded belly, large mustache, and mischievous spirit. He travels the world, always ready to fully immerse himself in the culture of the place he is visiting. Here, we see Maharajah as a knight rescuing his princess from her tower, ready to escape to Rome via Air India. His turban proudly peeks out from under his shining armour.

Air India was founded in 1932 by Bharat Ratna, the first Indian to receive a commercial pilot's license. It began as an airmail route, and was nationalized into a commercial airline in 1953.
