A later, smaller version of the same design was issued circa 1955 using offset printing.Chianti is one of Italy's best-known wines, originating in the historic wine-producing region of Tuscany between Florence and Siena. For much of the twentieth century, Chianti became internationally recognizable by its distinctive rounded bottle enclosed in a woven straw basket, prominently featured in this poster.Empoli was an Italian commercial artist and poster designer active during the first half of the twentieth century. Little biographical information about the artist appears to have been documented, although his work reflects the strong graphic tradition of Italian advertising of the period, using bold typography, simplified forms and vivid color to create immediately recognizable commercial images.This is an Original Vintage Poster, it is not a reproduction.
