  • At the creation of the United Nations organization in New York the member nations sought to declare their focus on freedom for all mankind. This was at the height of World War II. The flags on the poster represent those nations that were members of the United Nations in 1942. The Statue of Liberty, representing freedom for all,  in the image reminds the viewer that the United Nations is based in New York City. The artist is Broder for whom little information is known.
