This poster from 1955 was commissioned by the ENIT (The Italian Government Tourist Board). It shows a variety of things that can be found in Italy in a very colorful and joyful way. There are Roman ruins, lemons, oranges, a watermelon slice and a very smiley and bright sun. The yellows and reds contrast perfectly with the soft blue of the background.
The ENIT was founded in 1919 with the objective of promoting Italy around the globe. This poster was intended for English speaking countries. The Agency of Tourism always tried to show a distinctive Italian style in their posters.
