- This China-Rossi poster is an Italian liqueur advertisement. In the center of the image, a woman is galloping on a horse, using a bottle of the sweet China- Rossi as her whip. The text Elixir, Tonico (Tonic) and Ricostituente (Medicine) illustrated on the poster indicate that the liqueur is a digestive and meant to have health benefits. The bottom half of the poster reads Frat Rossi Asiago, the producer of the liqueur and the text reading “Succursale in Piove di Sacco” can be translated to “the branch in the Raining Sacco in Padova.”China Rossi, or China Reds is an Italian Liqueur produced by Rossi D’ Asiago. The Liqueur is known for its composition of various herbs and aromatic essences as well as its sweet taste. The term China comes from the bark of “China Calissaia” a tree in South America which was an ingredient originally used by the Chinese as a digestive.Unfortunately, there is no information on the artist of this poster.This is an Original Vintage Poster.
