  • The New Map Motocyclette poster by Henri LeMonnier features an elegantly dressed woman riding a New Map branded motorcycle (motocyclette in French). The new map logo is accented behind her and as well appears on opposite sides of the lower half of the poster.
New Map, a brand of French Lyonnais Motorcycles, was founded in 1898 by Joseph Martin. The company was originally devoted to bicycles, however under the leadership of Joseph Martin’s son, Paul, the New Map brand switched its market to Motorcycles.
Henri LeMonnier (1893–1978) created a small body of work in the field of advertising posters. He worked mainly for the printer Affiches Lutetia based in Paris. Most of his designs were created from the 1920's - 1938 and are colorful, spirited, and somewhat humorous much in the style of Leonetto Cappiello and Jean D'ylen who were more popular at that time. LeMonnier has a fine artistic hand and many of his posters are quite valuable in today's market.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.
