  • This poster was designed to promote the re-launch of the Venice Simplon Orient Express. The poster shows the interior of the luxury train and features a female passenger in the sleeping car. The elegant lady is wearing a night robe and is enjoying her alone time with a cigarette. The artist, Pierre Fix-Masseau uses his signature art deco style which he developed throughout his long career beginning in the early 1930ís.
Fix-Masseau (1905-1994) worked closely with famous art deco posterist, A.M. Cassandre from 1926 to 1928. Cassandreís influence is clearly seen in many of his earlier works. During Fix-Masseauís lengthy career he maintained his distinctive art deco crisp style and he continued to create new posters well into the 1980ís. He is especially well known for these images of the Venice Simplon Orient Express.
Please note that this is the larger version of the design with a dimension of 24.5 inches by 39.5 inches.
