  • Venice Simplon – Victoria Station is a 1981 French Travel poster by Fix Masseau for the re-launch of the Venice Simplon Orient Express rail line. It features the Victoria Station in London which was one of the hubs for the service. The artist, Pierre Fix-Masseau uses his signature art deco style which he developed throughout his long career beginning in the early 1930’s.
Fix-Masseau (1905-1994) worked closely with famous art deco posterist, A.M. Cassandre from 1926 to 1928. Cassandre’s influence is clearly seen in many of his earlier works. During Fix-Masseau’s lengthy career he maintained his distinctive art deco crisp style and he continued to create new posters well into the 1980’s. He is especially well known for these images of the Venice Simplon Orient Express.
Please note that this is the larger version of the design with a dimension of 24.5 inches by 39.5 inches.
