The woman in this vintage poster is wearing the guide uniform at the New York World's Fair of 1939. The fireworks in the background depict the opening ceremonies. The fair was held in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and was second largest world's fair of all time. It was the first exposition to be based on the future and its slogan was "Dawn of a New Day." Through its advertisements it encouraged visitors to come and see "the world of tomorrow."
