This British Railways pictorial map demonstrates the ease of travel from Belgium to Britain via rail and sea. On the lower left side of the map, a line is drawn to indicate the convenient travel between Ostend in Belgium to Dover in Britain via ferry. Ferry services to Dover began in 1846, with Ostend being the hub for the Regie voor Maritime Transport until 1997.

The poster is framed by caricatures of locations, wildlife, cultures and important architectural sites one can experience in Great Britain. The center portion of the poster, featuring the map of Britain similarly depicts all the attractions the country has to offer, this time, including red rail-lines which show the many different routes one can take to each site.

British Railways was a state-owned company that served most of the above ground rail transport in Great Britain from 1948 to 1997. British Railways formed from the merging of the "Big Four" railways in Great Britain in 1948: Great Western Railway, London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS), London North Easter Railway (LNER) and Southern Railway (SR).
