At the end of the 19th Century, the bicycle was the growing mode of transportation for most people. Faced with the rising interest in the newly invented automobile, bicycle companies made effective use of the poster medium to promote their products. This is a particularly fetching example; a course-ready model is on display. The text informs us that this bicycle is "elegant, graceful, and sturdy". The blank banner on the bottom would have been filled in by hand with the details of the closest local seller of Ed brand bicycles.
