This U.S. Navy design showcases the style commonly seen in American WWI posters; illustrative, informative, and decorative. Uncle Sam blows his bugle, as a warship cannon erupts in the distance and a Bald Eagle spreads his wings. War is coming for the United States, and recruiting is in full swing. This poster showcases the nearest local Navy recruiting station at 145 Tremont Street in Boston, Massachusetts which faces Boston Common. It is now a McDonald's.

Frederick Sanborn (1869-1942) was an American illustrator, about whom we have not been able to learn much about outside of the design of this poster.

This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
