Absolut Vodka - Citron

The Absolut Vodka advertising campaign has been in operation since 1981 winning hundreds of awards and membership in the American Marketing Association’s Marketing Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of Coca Cola and Nike in 1992. The Absolut Vodka Advertising Company known for its longevity in the world of advertising, is equally known for its design innovation. This sentiment goes hand in hand with the real purpose behind the campaign: to build a healthy and enduring brand for Absolut (Lewis). The Absolut Vodka Company is also known for its collaboration with and commissioning of famed artists and fashion designers such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Helmut Lange. The Absolut Vodka Company Campaigns have unequivocally made their mark in advertising history and are to this day, highly sought after.

This poster advertises Absolut Citron which simply is a lemon-flavored Vodka. Paralleling with the beauty of the Absolut branding is the artistry of Clayton LeFevre. The contemporary painter uses a horizontal composition and features two brightly colored Absolut bottles with a female at righthand corner of the image, smelling a fresh lemon in anticipation of the citrus-infused drink.
Clayton LeFevre (unknown – 2006) is an American postwar and contemporary style painter. Unfortunately, there is little information on the artist.
