This spectacular poster promotes the enjoyment of the Armagnac Ryst brandy. It features the brand's regal lion mascot and the tagline, "de haut prestige" which translates to, "high prestige".
Armagnac is the oldest form of brandy in France, and it is produced only in the Armagnac region of Gascony. Armagnac is said to be a mixture of three distinct cultures: Romans who brought grape vines to France in their conquests, Arabs who invented the destilling process that produces liqueur, and Celts who introduced barrels to the region for aging the brandy. Maison Ryst-Dupeyron was founded in 1905 by Joseph Dupeyron and is run today by his great-granddaughter, Caroline Ryst.
