A couple stands at the precipice of a mountain peak, looking out at the French Alps before them. While it must have been a daring feat to climb to this point, the soft watercolor technique and calm color palette instead project a feeling of serenity. The couple seem to be appreciating the quiet beauty of this stunning view.

Chamonix is a town located in the Mont Blanc region of the French Alps. Mont Blanc itself is the largest mountain in the Alps. It defines the border between Italy and France, and the mountain is often claimed as belonging to both countries and open to debate.

The artist of this poster is Samivel (1907-1992). Born Paul Gayet-Tancrede in Paris, Samivel was a prolific and accomplished watercolorist, author, poet, and filmmaker. He loved the region of Mont Blanc, and almost all of his paintings feature the French Alps, mountaineering, or a combination of the two.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
