Czechoslovaks Carry On shows American solidarity with the people of Czechoslovakia. The poster was created by the artist, Peel in 1942. A brave soldier marches towards his independent flags. The message was created for the American public and helped to reinforce awareness of the Allied effort in the war.

During the World War II, Czechoslovakia was incorporated into Nazi Germany and its government operated in exile. After the war, the country became part of the Soviet bloc until the Velvet Revolution of the late 1980's.

Peel produced a number of Pro-Allied propaganda posters during the Second World War. His artistic style is influenced by the artwork of Matisse, and reveals an interest in mixed media photography.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition.

We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
