The many joyful items found in the children's department of Printemps are on display in this charming c1980 poster. Printemps is a famous French chain of department stores, with a flagship located in Paris. It was founded in 1865 by Jules Jaluzot and Jean-Alfred Duclos. It has always been on the cutting edge, being the first store in Paris with electric lighting and one of the first buildings with elevators. It was revolutionary for its business practices, as well - it was the first store in France to have set pricing in lieu of haggling, and targeted the growing middle class instead of the wealthy elite.
