This vintage poster was published in the 1960's to promote travel to the Normandie Deauville area, which is a short train ride from Paris. The artist Kees Van Dongen is a well-known painter who created this image in his painting style. He uses French national colors of red, white, and blue in the image. He was a Dutch painter whose career took off after he exhibited in Paris in 1905 along with early work of Henri Matisse and others. At this time, both of these artists were part of the Fauvist movement, which was characterized by the use of bold, bright colors. This style was considered garish in the early 1900s, but is now considered an influential movement by art historians.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
