This vintage travel poster was published for the French airline TAI (Compagnie de Transport Aeriens Intercontinentaux) which was established in association with the Messageries Maritime Shipping Company in 1946. The airline added the destinations of Australia and New Caledonia to its list in 1956, employing Douglas DC-6 aircrafts, which were one of the first planes to fly a regularly scheduled around-the-world route. New Caledonia, referred to in the poster as the Island of Light and the France of the Pacific, is a French island archipelago in the southwest Pacific region of Melanesia.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
