"On all occasions, a book gives pleasure", reads the text printed on this elegant and stylized poster by artist Jacomo Muller. Paired with a black background, the book illustrated in the center of the image appears vibrant and beautifully detailed, as if extending the invitation for people to reach out and read it.

The advertisement sponsored by the Societe Des Librares et Editeurs Romands (the Romandy Society of Librarians and Editors) in Switzerland was used to encourage citizens of the French speaking portion of the country to visit the libraries within the region.

Swiss Artist Jacomo Muller created many French and Swiss travel posters throughout the 1930’s. Unfortunately, there is little information on the artist.
