This fun poster images proves that the simplest advertising is often the most effective. Written in the sand, shaded by a Campari beach umbrella is one phrase, "Eteint la Soif", or "Quench Your Thirst" in French. On a hot Summer beach day, it is a most appealing invitation! Also keeping cool under the umbrella is the Mediterranean beach side favorite of the pre-mixed and ice-cold Campari Soda. This classic refreshment can be purchased all along the Mediterannean's sunny shoreline still to this day. This version of this poster was created for the Swiss market.

Gaspar Campari first produced Bitter Campari in 1860 in Novara, Italy. The liquor falls under the category of "Bitters," which is traditionally prepared as a mixture of water, alcohol, and botanical extracts - in this case, orange peel. Bitters were originally developed as patent medicines, but are now used as digestifs. The drink is colored with carmine dye that provides the unique red coloring. Campari Soda was developed in the 1920s and was first referred to as an "Americano", after the American tourists visiting Italy to avoid Prohibition at home. In 1932 it was bottled and sold as the world's first ever packaged cocktail and renamed "Campari Soda". Its iconic bottle shape was designed by Italian Futurist Fortunato Depero.
