An injured soldier doubles over as he succumbs to enemy fire on a South-East Asiatic beach in this World War II poster by Ray Prohaska. This artwork, printed in 1944 declares, “Carless Talk Got There First.” The image is one of many created during WWII to promote the war effort, that centered on the theme of “Careless Talk” in the face of home-front espionage. Ray Prohaska (1901-1981) worked as a commercial artist in the mid-20th Century and later developed a successful abstract fine art career. He attended the San Francisco School of Fine Arts and later moved to New York to pursue a career as a commercial artist. Notable publishing clients included The Saturday Evening Post, Good Housekeeping, and McCalls. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
