Cognac Briand

Gaston Briand (1880-1957) and his family were producers of cognacs in the Domaine La Voute since 1850 and they sold most of their production to the major regional houses of Remy Martin and Hennessy. In the late 1920's Monsieur Briand created his own self named brand of Cognac and used this image as a part of his promotional campaign to launch his brand. The image of the woman encircled by 3 stars ( a mark of quality) and proudly holding up 2 fine bottles of cognac is Briand's declaration of their pride and quality. Although the poster is signed by the artist, Stephane, there is no information available about him.
