Cycles Labor - Monkeys
Cycles Labor - Monkeys
(164cm x 116cm)
Talk about 'monkey see, monkey do'! This charming image was created around 1910 for bicycle producer, Cycles Labor. An unseen professor has placed a drawing of the latest model of the company on display at the center of the room. Like in any respectable art class, the monkeys measure and assess prospective as they look to recreate the cycle for themselves. The bottom text roughly translates to, " A copy will never be the same as a Labor". The message here is that Cycles Labor prodcts are often reproduced, but are never as good as the original. It's a funny poster with a great yellow and red color palette.
During the early 20th century, Cycles Labor gained prominence for its innovative designs and attention to detail. The company was known for incorporating advanced materials and techniques into their bicycles, which helped enhance performance and durability. Their bicycles were popular among racing enthusiasts and everyday riders alike.
This is an original vintage poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
