This poster commemorates a 1992 exhibition of posters by Rene Gruau held at the Centre de l'Affiche, in Toulouse France. The Italian-born artist settled in Paris in 1924 to pursue fashion illustration. He worked for many fashion magazines including Femina, Marie-Claire, L'Officiel, L'Album Du Figaro. In 1947 he was asked by Christian Dior to create the advertisement for the famous Bar dress, an iconic moment in fashion history. After the success of this advertisement he came to the US and worked for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Flair. Over his career he worked for the greatest names in Haute Couture and the top fashion magazines.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
