It was likely printed in both English and French to appeal to travelers from both nations, during a time of renewed travel after the end of WWII.

Alois Carigiet (1902-1985) was a Swiss illustrator and graphic designer best known for his children's book illustrations. His style is loosely influenced by Fauvism and Expressionism.
