Maîtres de l'Affiche (Masters of the Poster) refers to 256 color lithographic plates used to create an art publication during the Belle Époque in Paris, France. The collection, reproduced from the original works of ninety-seven artists in a smaller 11 x 15 inch format, was put together by Jules Chéret, the father of poster art and distributed between 1895 – 1900. The varied selection of prints were sold in packages of four and delivered monthly to subscribers. Designed for a subscription audience it showcased the most influential posters of the era in a collectible small format.
Georges Fay (1871-1916) was a talented illustrator of the early Belle Epoque period in France. He is most known for this loving depiction of working women, as seen in this poster. Amieux - Freres began as a sardine packing company in 1866. In 1900, they diversified their products to include sweets and chocolates. They are still in business today, and are based in Paris. This poster highlights the freshness of Amieux Freres' fish, straight from fishing boat to can. Tinning and canning was a product of the Industrial Revolution that allowed the everyman access to fresh food without the need of expensive refrigeration.
This is an original vintage print, not a reproduction. This poster is on heavyweight paper, and is in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
