This poster published by Norwegian State Railways advertises travel to Norway. Unlike many posters seen within our collection, this poster is a photograph rather than an illustration. The image demonstrates the natural beauty of the popular destination, Lake Loen in Norway. A woman in red with hiking gear looks off into the distance. Ahead of her lies a scene of blue skies, greenery, an azure lake and grandiose mountains.

Photographer, John Tedford is known for his photographs of natural scenes in Norway. Tedford also created a photograph of a woman and man on a canoe in Lake Loen which appears on a 1958 Scandinavian Airline Systems (SAS) poster.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.

  • If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

  • Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

  • The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
