Sauternes is a French sweet wine that originates from the Sauternais region of the Graves section in Bordeaux. Made using Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and the noble rot of Muscadelle Grapes, the wine is notable for its distinctive flavor. Sauternes Wine from the Premier Cru Supérieur estate are typically very expensive, due to the high cost of production.

The Barsac Vins Blancs au Monde poster illustrated by Robert Falcucci encompasses all things luxury, going hand and hand with the opulence associated with the Sauternes brand. The poster with its deep red background features an elegant white-gloved hand raising a sheer glass of the sweet wine in the center of the image. The glass, adorned in a Bicorne hat famously worn by Napolean Bonaparte, represents France’s pride in their superb wines. The bottom text of the poster reads "Vins Blancs Uniques Au Monde" (White Wine Unique in the World).

Robert Falcucci (1900 – 1988) was a French illustrator best known for his Monaco Grand Prix posters from 1930. Falcucci worked for the Renault car company from 1923- 1927 where he directed many advertising pages for Renault.
