Ask anyone who lived through WWII on the American "home front" about their experience, and the conversation will quickly turn to rationing. America had always been a land of abundance, but as soon as the U.S. entered the War, food shortages began and inflation rose. All of America's resources went to feeding the troops overseas. By 1943, it had become every citizen's duty to help reduce price gauging and lower inflation. The poster emphasizes seven steps that the average American could do to prevent inflation. Among these points include major themes of buying war bonds, conservation, and food rationing. The seven steps correspond to the seven letters that spell "Victory." This well illustrated poster highlights the attempt to eliminate inflation at home while soldiers fought overseas.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in very good condition. This poster had been previously folded by the US Government for distribution, and these fold lines do remain slightly visible with professional restoration along them.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

  • Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

  • The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
