Amer Picon - Orange
Amer Picon - Orange
(117cm x 161cm)
In this poster, we see an orange peel transform into a beautiful woman who offers the viewer a taste of Amer Picon. It is interesting to note that the image of a figure coming out of an orange peel is one that has been repeated in many posters. The most famous example is Bitter Campari by Leonetto Cappiello, completed 10 years after this posters’ printing.
Amer Picon is an alcoholic aperitif with a strong orange-flavored base which also contains gentian, quinquina, and caramel. It was first produced by the French distiller Gaetan Picon. It is technically a type of bitters that is served with seltzer or beer.
Bouchet was an artist who created many liquor posters at the beginning of the 20th century. Not much more is known about him.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in very good condition. It had previously been folded and has had professional restoration along those folds. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
