Campari Flags - Nanni
Campari Flags - Nanni
(140cm x 197cm)
The global appeal of Campari is flouted in this 1959 advertising poster for the Italian liqueur label. Flags of various countries around the world wave julibantly behind the aperitif and digestif versions of Campari. Note that the bottles rest atop the Italian flag, an homage to the company's location. This is an impressively large poster, printed in two sheets that have been joined together in the linen backing process.
Unfortunately, there is little information to find about the artist of this poster, Nino Nanni. We do know that he created at least one other poster for Campari in his career.
Gaspar Campari first produced Bitter Campari in 1860 in Novara, Italy. The liquor falls under the category of "Bitters," which is traditionally prepared as a mixture of water, alcohol, and botanical extracts, in this case, an orange peel. Bitters were originally developed as patent medicines, but are now used as digestifs. The drink is colored with carmine dye that gives the drink its unique red coloring.
This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
