This complete set of four World War II posters in this special large format (40”x56”), created by Norman Rockwell (1894–1978), illustrates Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “Four Freedoms,” outlined in his 1941 State of the Union Address. Commissioned to inspire patriotism and encourage the purchase of war bonds, the series became one of the most iconic visual campaigns of the era. Each image depicts an everyday American scene embodying the freedoms Roosevelt declared worth defending.Freedom from Want portrays a family gathered for a traditional holiday meal, symbolizing security and abundance. Freedom of Speech shows an ordinary citizen standing with dignity among his neighbors to voice his views at a town meeting. Freedom of Worship presents men and women in quiet prayer, reflecting diverse beliefs united under the right of conscience. Freedom from Fear captures a couple tucking their children safely into bed, while a father holds a newspaper reporting on the turmoil of war abroad.Norman Rockwell was one of America’s most celebrated illustrators, best known for his long association with The Saturday Evening Post, for which he created over 300 covers. His work captured the character of everyday American life with humor, warmth, and meticulous detail. During World War II, Rockwell turned his talents toward patriotic themes, using his ability to connect with broad audiences to help rally support for the Allied cause. Today, his works are regarded as both cultural touchstones and masterful examples of 20th-century illustration. This is an Original Vintage Poster set, not a reproduction.
