(121cm x 87cm)
Decorative ornamentation is on full display in this poster that promotes an exhibit of Dutch art at the Kaiser Wilhem Museum in Krefeld, Germany.
This poster is done in the style of the Secession movement, an art style that sought to eliminate the distinction between decorative and fine arts, and artists and craftsmen. This movement yielded important artists such as Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, and later evolved into the Bauhaus movement.
Johan Thorn Prikker (1868-1932) was an important Dutch artist who moved to Germany in 1903 - the year of this poster. He created several posters for the Krefeld Museum over his career. His style was influenced by the Dutch Orient, making him a perfect match to create this poster.
The Kaiser Wilhelm Museum in Krefeld, Germany was established in 1897 with a focus on the Arts and Crafts movements of art and design. It was dedicated in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm I, the King of Prussia and later Emperor of Germany who passed away in 1888.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
