KLM - Europe Postcards

K.L.M. (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij), known as the Royal Dutch Airlines, is an aviation company founded in 1919 by Albert Plesman. In 2003, K.L.M. and Air France agreed to a merger plan in which they would become subsidiaries of a holding company called Air France-KLM. K.L.M. is the oldest airline still operating under its original name to this day. In this clever design by Hermanus Berserik we see the typical tourist trappings of the fedora, camera, and postcards of European destinations . The title is reminding the viewer that KLM flies to many destinations in Europe from its base in Holland.

Hermanus (Herman) Berserik (June 19, 1921 - March 21, 2002) was a Dutch painter and print maker. He was a member of the Pulchri Studio in The Hague.
He studied art at that city's Royal Academy of Art, where his teachers included Willem Schrofer, Willem Jacob Rozendaal, and Rein Draijer. His career was spent as a teacher as well as a painter and illustrator. Much of his commercial projects were for posters for many Dutch clients, including KLM.
