Le Puy is an important historical and religious locale in the southern Auvergne region of France. It is the starting point for the pilgrimage walk to Santiago de Compostela, and is also known for its lace making and lentils. This poster shows the beauty of the historic village, through the window of a home high above the town. A local woman works on her lace in the foregound as the town's terracotta rooftops and dramatic hills roll behind her.
This poster was created for the French Railway, P.L.M. – Paris, Lyon, Mediterranee. These three train hubs were the main departure points for rail travel in France during the 1920’s and into the 1930’s. PLM importantly connected the busy cities with the bucolic countryside, allowing a broad swath of the public to explore different regions; an activity previously afforded to only the highest of society.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition with some minimal restoration along the fold lines. The photo is of the actual piece for sale, so you can zoom in to inspect further, although these lines are barely visible.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
