The text of this poster reads: "Okinawa - As part of the Tenth Army, the First and Sixth Marine Divisions and the Eighth Regimental Combat Team shared in the victory at Okinawa. Thus Marines, having launched the Pacific land offensive at Guadalcanal, saw it through to its fiery triumphant end".
