Albert Brenet was the official artist for the French navy and air force starting in 1936. He traveled by sea often, always carrying his sketchbook and documenting scenes both on the water and of life on board. He created many commemorative and promotional posters. This poster was created for the Messageries Maritimes, which was a French merchant shipping company. The ocean liner depicted was called the "Marseillaise", and was one of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships in the company's history.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
