Two beautiful women relax on a stone on the boardwalk in Monte Carlo, showing off their alluring bathing suits. The Mediterranean sea unfurls behind them with not a cloud in the sky. It is a sensual and deceptively simple composition; one of the most desirable posters created for Monte Carlo.

Louis Icart (1888–1950) was a French painter and illustrator well known for his erotic depiction of glamorous women and roaring 1920s Paris. He rose to prominence in the Art Deco period, becoming the rare success in both Europe and America. It was not uncommon for an illustration of Icart's to be produced in both French and English. He diversified his career later in life to the fashion world, as a major illustrator. This rare poster was created just two years before Icart passed away.
