This original vintage poster was created in 1920 by renowned poster artist, Leonetto Cappiello. It is printed in an oversize format using stone lithography. The fine details of the artwork promote the umbrellas made in France by the Revel Company. These umbrellas shield their owners from the worst of downpours. The blank box in the lower right corner was intended for the local store to add their name and address to. This size of poster while very large is very dramatic when viewed in person. Leonetto Cappiello (1875-1942) designed many great posters during his long career. His innovative style featured oversized central figures in disproportion and usually against a dark background. This poster typifies that style.
