Philips - Teacher and Pupils is a c.1960 French advertisement for Philips by Guy Georget (1911-1992). The artwork depicts a school scene of lightbulb headed children receiving their lesson from the teacher. The blackboard reads "Philips lamp is safer and not more expensive." A child shows his notes to the teacher that reads, "10 Watts Minimum."

Guy Georget first entered the poster advertising world in the late 1940's. His first artworks for travel posters exhibited a clear Picasso/Matisse influence. In 1960, Georget designed the logo for La Poste, the French national postal service. Other major clients included Air France and Philips, for which he created the lightbulb head figures depicted in this poster as well as others for Philip.
