Weigh the Shekel - Israel

This interesting poster is in Hebrew and was created for the World Zionist Organization. The main text reads, "weigh the shekel", or be sure to pay your membership fees. It was created in 1938, a pivotal moment in the history of the formation of the Israeli state. It was in this year that the British "Peel Commission" report came out suggesting dividing Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states. While the proposal was ultimately not implemented, it marked an important step in the ongoing discussions and negotiations regarding the future political arrangements in the region.
