Created in 1942 during World War II, this dramatic American propaganda poster was issued to encourage civilians to contribute scrap materials needed for wartime production. Against a fiery background, a German military aircraft marked with Nazi insignia plunges from the sky. The direct headline, “YOUR SCRAP…brought it down,” connects civilian participation on the home front with military success overseas.The lower text urges Americans to “KEEP SCRAPPING,” specifically calling for iron and steel, rubber, other metals, and rags.
